As a result, SunRiver Golf Course is able to provide a challenging, but player-friendly experience to golfers of all ages and skill levels.
Many of the holes on the par-35 front nine at SunRiver Golf Course are set on the banks of the Virgin River. As a result, much of the front nine at SunRiver Golf Course possesses a rich, green hue that is rarely found on desert courses. As golfers reach the end of the front nine, they will also encounter the large lake that separates the 9th and 18th holes. This sparkling body of water serves as not only one of the course's most memorable obstacles, but also a regular home for all types of birds and other wildlife. The front nine has also received a number of upgrades since opening, including the addition of several new sand traps.
While the front nine at SunRiver Golf Course features plenty of fairway space and traditional obstacles, the back nine resembles the archetypal desert golf course. The layout winds through an expansive dry gulch surrounded by rock walls and desert scenery. Making extensive use of the rugged terrain, the back nine at SunRiver Golf Course feels like a natural extension of the landscape.
Though the layout at SunRiver Golf Course is recognized as one of the region's best, the course has also gained a reputation as one of the friendliest courses in Utah. Guided by the welcoming atmosphere found throughout the active adult community, SunRiver Golf Course encourages all golfers to play the game at their own pace. Additionally, local golfers always relish seeing visitors enjoying their course and clubhouse amenities. The on-site restaurant and bar is known as a good place to enjoy a meal after a round and meet golfers from all over the world.
