Sand Hollow State Park Ranger Programs
A run of free ranger-led programs at Sand Hollow this August. The programs are free; park entry is still required.

Winged Wonders (August 12 and 21, 7:00 a.m.) — Sand Hollow draws more than 250 bird species a year. Meet a ranger off the main boat ramp near the dam; binoculars provided.

Scorpion Hunt (August 13, 9:30 p.m.) — a half-mile night loop from the OHV staging area looking for scorpions fluorescing under UV light. Closed-toed shoes; UV lights provided.

Art of Adventure (August 15, 10:00 a.m.) — guided nature journalling at the water's edge, materials provided.

Movie Meetup (August 19, 9:30 p.m.) — an outdoor movie at the OHV staging area. Weather dependent.

EKO: Utah Rocks (August 22, 2:00 p.m.) — the "Every Kid Outdoors" challenge with Utah's Department of Outdoor Recreation, at the Dive Park. Supplies provided for children 17 and under, and park entry is reduced for them.

Full Moon Stroll (August 27, 7:45 p.m.) — a beach walk and full-moon talk with a ranger; the land-based alternative to the paddle.

Full Moon Paddle (August 28, 8:30 p.m.) — from the dive park dock, around the island and back. Registration required and kayaks are NOT provided.
