The Smith family have owned the Bumbleberry property since February 1972, when Howard Smith, a Salt Lake accountant, and his brother Rowe 'Bill' Smith drove south to look at a business in Virgin and bought the brand-new 24-unit Bumbleberry Inn instead. It is the oldest family-owned and operated business in Springdale. The pie recipe came from Constance Madsen, who ran Grandma's Kitchen with her husband Julius, and the family has never made it public.
