St. George Marathon
Held the first Saturday of October, the St. George Marathon is one of the most popular and scenic marathons in the country. The point-to-point course starts in the high country near Central, Utah and descends through Southern Utah's red-rock landscape to finish in downtown St. George — a net-downhill profile that makes it a favorite Boston Marathon qualifier.
- Distance: 26.2 miles (a companion 5K is also held race weekend)
- Start: early morning, point-to-point from Central, UT
- Finish: downtown St. George
- Entry: demand is high; entry is typically by lottery
With cool October mornings, dramatic scenery, and a big finish-line celebration in town, it's a bucket-list race for road runners and a marquee event on the St. George calendar. Check the official race site for the current year's dates and registration.
