About 1.5 to 2 hours southwest of St. George (just off I-15 near Overton, Nevada), Valley of Fire State Park is a blaze of brilliant red Aztec sandstone — Nevada's oldest and most scenic state park.

Tips: it's often paired with a Las Vegas trip, but it's an easy standalone day from St. George. The red rock glows best in early morning and late afternoon.
