Getting your bearings

St. George Regional Hospital is about half a mile away, Utah Tech University is about a mile away and the Red Cliffs shopping corridor is about 1 miles away. For a day out, Pioneer Park is about 3 miles off. Measured in a straight line rather than by road. St. George is built around washes and a black lava ridge, so the drive is usually longer than the map implies.

What the amenities actually mean

Pets allowed. Subject to the community's own rules, which is where the detail lives. In Utah those rules — breed and weight limits, a pet deposit, sometimes monthly pet rent — sit in the lease rather than in statute, so read them rather than assuming.

A pool. In southern Utah a pool is in use far more of the year than it would be further north. Worth asking whether it is heated and what months it stays open — the shoulder seasons here are long and warm.

A spa. Communities here tend to keep them running through the winter, when daytime highs stay mild and the pool itself has usually been closed.

Water, as a renter

You will not be paying to keep a lawn alive, but water still reaches you: many communities bill water back to residents through a ratio-based allocation rather than a meter on your door, and Washington County cities periodically set outdoor watering restrictions that change what the grounds look like in high summer. Ask which method the property uses to bill water, because the two produce very different numbers for the same household.
