Pioneer Park is about 3 miles off if you are heading out for the day. Measured in a straight line rather than by road. St. George is built around washes and a black lava ridge, so the drive is usually longer than the map implies.

What to ask about these

A spa. Communities here tend to keep them running through the winter, when daytime highs stay mild and the pool itself has usually been closed.

An on-site gym. This is more useful here than the amenity list suggests: summer afternoons rule out running outdoors for a good stretch of the year, and most residents shift indoors or to dawn.

A clubhouse. At most communities the clubhouse doubles as the leasing office and the package room. If you work from home some of the time, ask whether it is bookable and what the wifi in it is actually like.

Parking, guests and what lives outside

Parking is one of the most common sources of friction in southern Utah communities, partly because so many households here own something recreational — a boat, a trailer, a side-by-side. Most properties prohibit storing those on site, and most tow. Ask about assigned versus open stalls, what guests do overnight, and where a second vehicle goes before you assume any of it.
