Visitors boat, fish, and swim on the reservoir or enjoy a picnic on the beach. When conditions allow, seasonal water flow over the rocks below the reservoir creates the seasonal Gunlock Falls, a popular spring attraction (note: the falls do not flow year-round).

The park is open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Boat-ramp hours vary by season (7 a.m.-8 p.m. May-September; 7 a.m.-7 p.m. October-April). Day-use fees are $15 per vehicle for Utah residents, $10 for resident seniors 65+, and $25 per vehicle for out-of-state visitors, which includes use of the watercraft launches. Fees can be paid at the fee booth or by self-pay envelope, and Utah State Parks annual day-use passes are accepted.
