Trailhead Apartments

Trailhead sits off Telegraph Street in Washington near the Hell Hole trailhead, with direct access to hiking and mountain biking in the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area and close proximity to Green Spring Golf Course. The community offers studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom homes with granite counters, luxury vinyl plank flooring, and high ceilings.

Amenities include a pool and spa, fitness center, business center, controlled access, an elevator, and covered parking.

What is nearby

Washington city centre is about a mile away, the Red Cliffs shopping corridor is about 4 miles away and Utah Tech University is about 5 miles away. For a day out, Pioneer Park is about 5 miles off. Those are straight-line distances, so allow more by road — the valley is cut up by washes and ridges, and very little of it runs in a straight line.

The amenities, in context

A dishwasher. Not a given in older southern Utah stock. Small thing, but it is one of the few appliance details worth confirming in writing rather than assuming from a photo.

Refrigerated air conditioning. This matters more in this valley than it sounds. Plenty of older southern Utah rentals still cool with an evaporative — swamp — cooler, which works well in dry heat and much less well once the monsoon humidity arrives in late summer. If a unit's cooling matters to you, confirm which system it actually has before signing.

Covered parking. This is a genuine comfort here rather than a luxury. A car left in full sun through a St. George July gets hot enough to matter, and covered stalls are usually assigned — ask how they are allocated and whether a second car gets one.

Utilities, and who bills you

Which utility company serves you depends on which city you are in rather than on the community: several municipalities in Washington County run their own power and water utilities, while others are served by the regional provider. Ask the leasing office which are included, which are billed back to you, and whether the property uses a third-party billing service that adds an administrative charge — that last one surprises people.
