Broker and agent are different things in Utah. The state licenses three classes: a sales agent, who must work under a brokerage; an associate broker, who has qualified further but still works under one; and a principal broker, who is responsible for a brokerage and the agents in it. Every agent you deal with is affiliated with one of the firms below, and the brokerage is the entity legally behind your transaction.

The range here is wide, and it matters more than the branding suggests. The largest firms carry most of the county's agents and the deepest bench across every kind of property; the smallest are frequently owner-operators who handle every transaction personally. Neither is better — they suit different buyers.
