St. George has plenty of good, affordable golf, but a few courses are the reason people fly in. If you are building a trip around the marquee rounds, these are the three to know.
Sand Hollow
The one at the top of most lists. The Championship course out in Hurricane, designed by John Fought and opened in 2008, plays along red-rock cliffs and slickrock, with the only bentgrass tees in Southern Utah. The signature holes on the rim, with drop-offs into the canyon, are the postcard shots of St. George golf. Public, and worth the green fee once.
Black Desert
The new showpiece. Opened in 2023 in Ivins as Tom Weiskopf's final design, Black Desert threads through black lava fields and has already hosted a PGA Tour event. It is ranked among the best in Utah and is the hot ticket right now, so book early.
Entrada
The exclusive one. A private, gated Johnny Miller design on the west side, winding through lava rock and red sandstone and recently rebuilt to acclaim. You cannot just book a tee time; you need a member or a stay at the Inn at Entrada. But if you can get on, it is unforgettable.
