Homes here fail in different places than homes in wetter climates. Inspectors in Washington County pay particular attention to stucco and the flashing behind it, slab movement in the expansive clay soils east of the Virgin River, evaporative coolers and undersized air conditioning, and irrigation that has been quietly undermining a foundation for years.
