Kayenta Art Village
The heart of it is out west, about seven miles toward Ivins: the Kayenta Art Village, a cluster of a dozen-plus galleries and working studios set against Red Mountain. You will find pottery, painting, sculpture, jewelry, and photography, plus a proper performing-arts theater (the Center for the Arts, opened in 2017) and a genuinely good restaurant in Xetava. Wander the studios, catch a show, eat outside. It is the most concentrated art you will find in Southern Utah, and the setting alone is worth the drive.
Art Around the Corner
Downtown, you are walking through an outdoor gallery whether you notice or not. Art Around the Corner is a rotating outdoor sculpture show, roughly two dozen pieces from national artists installed around historic downtown and refreshed every spring. It is free, it is always on, and it turns a simple downtown stroll into something better.
Sears Art Museum and DOCUTAH
On the Utah Tech campus, the Sears Art Museum runs several exhibits a year and admission is free. And each year the university hosts DOCUTAH, a well-regarded international documentary film festival that has been called one of the coolest small festivals in the country.
