SunRiver: St. George's 55+ Golf Community
The 55+ community everyone mentions first: golf from your driveway, a giant amenity center, and dozens of clubs. Inside SunRiver.
If you are shopping for an active-adult community in St. George, SunRiver is the one everyone mentions first, and for good reason. It is a big, established, master-planned 55+ community on the south end of town, built around golf and an almost absurd amount of amenities.
The golf and the clubhouse
SunRiver has its own 18-hole championship course, desert golf you can reach by cart from your driveway, plus a large clubhouse and a restaurant looking out at Pine Valley Mountain. For a lot of residents, the golf is the whole point.
Everything else
This is where SunRiver really separates itself. The main community center runs 35,000 square feet, with indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center and aerobics studio, a library, and hobby spaces for pottery, woodworking, and more. Outside there are tennis and pickleball courts, ten of them, plus lawn bowling, horseshoes, and shuffleboard. And then there are the clubs, dozens of them, covering just about any hobby or social interest you can name. It is genuinely hard to be bored here.
Who it is for
SunRiver suits active retirees and empty-nesters who want a low-maintenance home, a built-in social life, and golf and a pool a golf-cart ride away. If that is the phase of life you are in, it is one of the easiest places in Southern Utah to land and immediately have a calendar full of things to do.
