Living in SunRiver St. George

SunRiver St. George is a large 55+ active-adult community on the southern edge of St. George, spread across roughly 690 acres south of Bloomington and just off I-15. Conceived by developer Darcy Stewart and started in 1998, it has grown to around 2,400 to 2,600 single-family homes and is essentially built out today. It is described as the original SunRiver community and the only 55+ community in St. George built around its own golf course.

The community is not gated overall, though it includes a gated subsection called Reflections. An active HOA — the SunRiver St. George Community Association — maintains community standards, and residents enjoy an unusually deep program of clubs, activities, and amenities.

Golf

The SunRiver Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-71 course designed by William H. Neff and opened in 2000. It is privately owned but open to public play, with on-site dining at Guru's Sports Bar & Grill. Living on or near the course is a central part of the SunRiver appeal.

SunRiver has direct I-15 access on the south side of St. George, keeping it close to shopping, medical care, and the airport while sitting away from the busiest traffic. Zion National Park is roughly a half-hour drive.
