No. Almost every course in Washington County sells tee times directly to the public, so a visitor can assemble a trip course by course with no package involved. What a package buys is the reservation work: nights and rounds arrive as one booking with the times already held, which is worth most in winter, when the good morning slots go first and a group arriving without them can find the course it came for full.

Which St. George golf courses have lodging on the property?

Four: Black Desert Resort in Ivins, Sand Hollow Resort at Hurricane, The Ledges north of town, and the Inn at Entrada in Ivins. Black Desert is a conventional resort hotel; Sand Hollow and The Ledges rent houses and villas, which suits larger groups; the Inn is a set of casitas. Every other course in the county is standalone golf, played from a hotel or rental somewhere else in the valley.

How far is Mesquite, Nevada from St. George for a golf trip?

About forty minutes southwest on Interstate 15, roughly forty miles. Mesquite is a long-established golf-package destination built around its resort-casinos, and the drive is short enough that groups staying in either place regularly play courses in the other. It is a reasonable base if the packaging matters most, though it puts you further from Zion and Snow Canyon.

St. George Golf Vacations

Fourteen courses sit within about thirty minutes of downtown St. George, but only four properties let you sleep on the golf. That distinction is worth settling before you book, because a golf resort and a golf town are different products, and this region is mostly the second: a dense cluster of courses that visitors play from a base, rather than a single resort you never leave.

The four properties with golf on site

Black Desert Resort, in Ivins, is the full resort article — rooms, suites and golf residences arranged around Tom Weiskopf's final design, restaurants and a spa on the property, and the tournament pedigree that brought professional golf to the county. The course runs eighteen holes plus a bonus nineteenth, built for settling bets. It is the closest thing here to a destination resort in the Scottsdale sense.

Sand Hollow Resort, out at Hurricane, pairs the county's most photographed golf with vacation villas on the property — houses, condos and suites rather than a hotel block. Its argument is what surrounds it: the reservoir and the Sand Mountain dunes are immediately alongside, so a group wanting golf, water and off-road riding can do all three without changing base. It is also the closest of the four to Zion.

The Ledges, north of town toward Snow Canyon, rents homes and villas rather than rooms — several bedrooms apiece, many with a private pool. That makes it the practical answer for a group of eight or twelve who want one roof, a kitchen and somewhere to sit in the evening, which a row of hotel rooms does not give you.

A stay is how a visitor gets onto Entrada

Entrada at Snow Canyon does not sell public tee times, and calling ahead does not change that.

The exception is the Inn at Entrada, a group of casitas set along the course. A stay there carries temporary access to the club — the course itself, the clubhouse and the fitness and spa facilities — which makes booking a room the practical route onto a course a visitor otherwise cannot play without a member to invite them.

That arrangement is worth knowing precisely because the county's other private club has no equivalent. Bloomington Country Club has no lodging attached, so there is no visitor route in at all. Those two are the only private clubs here; everything else takes public tee times in some form.

The term covers a simple bundle: nights and rounds sold together, with tee times held as part of the reservation instead of chased separately afterward. A resort will build one around its own course, and some package rounds at courses they do not own.

Weighing it against Mesquite

Mesquite, Nevada is about forty minutes down I-15 and sells golf packages hard through its resort-casinos, so it surfaces in the same searches. It is a real alternative, and the honest points in its favor are that the packaging is more mature and the drive from Las Vegas is shorter.

What it does not have is the range of ground. The reason to base a trip in Washington County is that a week here can take in lava, slickrock, river-bottom parkland and clifftop desert without repositioning once, with Zion and Snow Canyon available on the days you are not playing. Plenty of groups play both; the two are close enough together that it works.
